Everything was so serene and pretty. The staff were Very kind and welcoming. They found out it was our anniversary and made us a special dessert! We have all kinds of food restrictions and they took them all into consideration. The room was amazing and had a beautiful veiw. The food was very good and all locally sourced. 100 percent would recommend this ryokan! The onsen in the room was so peaceful and the common one had a view to the mountains

Warm friendly helpful welcome by the hotel receptionist Yuri. Smooth fast check in. Comfortable spacious clean room and nice onsen. Dinner was wonderful too. The owners are a family. Met Ms Hiroko Misumi and her sister in law who both run the hotel. They are always available to lend assistance to you. Greatly appreciated their help to resolve an emergency. All 3 individuals we met speak English. Don’t be fooled by the appearance of some walls or facade of the hotel building as you approach. Once inside, everything is as well appointed and decorated like a grand ryokan.

Toilets available every floor, 2 public bathrooms and hot bath located at ground floor, sometimes might need to queue if happen to be full booking that day. Breakfast and dinner available upon request. 5 minutes walk to ski lift, Satoshi-San pick up and fetch us to train station. Will be back on next ski season probably.

Being able to sit in the onsen with a view of the mountains was truly unique. The private sauna was also very nice. This ryokan is a fantastic place to get away from modern life for a few days and relax. The food is also very high quality, although the nature of some of the more traditional dishes takes some adjusting of the palette.

They picked us up at Echigo Yuzawa station when we arrived and kindly gave us lift back to the station when our trip was over. They also gave us a lift to the Ishiuchi trains station when needed. They answered all our questions and helped us booking taxis. The ryokan is very well mantained and has wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast has plenty of good options.
