Situated atop a hill in Hakone, Gyokutei offers an authentic Japanese accommodation with an indoor hot spring bath. Hakoneyumoto Train Station is a leisurely 8-minute walk from the ryokan.

All rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding. Each are equipped with a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and a private bathroom with a bath, shower and free toiletries. Extras include slippers, a hair dryer and yukata robes.

Our stay in Gyokutei was absolutely amazing. We loved every minute of it! The attention put by the staff was spectacular. Breakfast in the room and kaiseki dinners were delicious (although very traditionally Japanese, as advertised, so it might not be to everyone’s taste). Our room had a private bath with onsen water, which was great. On top of that we could use the shared onsen facilities. The stay in this ryokan was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan.

Such a charming property to experience living in a real and old Japanese house and sleeping on futons. The communal toilets and baths (you have to book bath timings for your room) were not as inconvenient as expected, and it was an interesting experience. If travel is all about new experiences, Ryokan Plum is a great choice! A short 10-min walk from Odawara Station, where there are buses and trains to Hakone.

Great location next to the train station and above a large food court. The food court is newly constructed in a traditional style with lots of quality food at good prices. The rooms and beds are comfy and onsen relaxing.
