You might want to go to Himuro Shrine (氷室神社) for a quieter location to admire the cherry blossoms (during spring) and to feed the deer with less competition from other tourists! The deer may be more aggressive though, since they are more hungry (due to less tourists in the area feeding them).

Is very busy and packed with tourists in peak season.

Is very busy and packed with tourists in peak season. The deer closer the entrance are very aggressive so will charge you and bite your clothes to get biscuits. Go further up the park to get some peace and quiet and meet calmer deer. Also, some tourists will feed wrappers and ice cream to the deer thinking it is funny. If you see this, please tell them not to. The deer will get sick.

    Don't miss Deer Park!

Don't miss Deer Park! Buy deer crackers and the deer will bow in response to your bow for a cracker. The whole park is lovely with lots of buildings and things to see. Spend most of the day here, then get green tea ice cream and some ramen! We stayed across the street at the Nara Visitor Center and it was a perfect location!

Good to explore all corners of the park.

Good to explore all corners of the park. If you walk up to Todaiji Nigatsudo (東大寺二月堂) there is a great view, and a visitor's hall tucked in behind. It's quiet, with toilets and free green tea!

You can purchase crackers to feed the deer inexpensively from vendors. If you bow to them first, they will bow back then accept a cracker. (a few, but not all could become a bit aggressive if they detected you had more you could be feeding them. Not a big deal though.) They let you pet them and their velvet horns, which is easy to do if you aren't also presenting food.

There are many plastic bags found in dead deer's stomachs.

There are many plastic bags found in dead deer's stomachs. So, please only food them with deer crackers and take any plastic bags with you to litter somewhere else. Please be mindful when you travel.

The location is just perfect to walk around Nara Park and other famous spots. Room was pretty big especially compared to other hotels in Japan! Everything is clean! I`d love to stay here again someday :)

Perfect location in a lively street with a lot of restaurants and shops and 5min walk from the entrance of the Nara Park. Underground parking lot located 2min walk from the hotel. The rooms are quite small but it's OK for a short stay. The breakfast is amazing (a la carte breakfast).

Very nice hotel. Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Located in the center of Nara with many shops and restaurants nearby. Was less than a 10 minute walk to Nara Park. And Nara Station was 1 block away. Rooms were on the small side, but this is typical of Japan hotels. They were modern and clean.

The hotel is very authentic. "The hotel has a charming vintage vibe, full of stories from years past. Our room, 'Fuju,' was spacious and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptional, and the location couldn't have been better—close to Nara Park and the station. While they didn't have washing machines on-site, there's a convenient facility just a 7-minute walk away. The onsen was a good experience to end your day with. Pluses, the hotel lobby has items for sale, good for last-minute suviners

Very close to Nara JR station. Easy to transport to other cities like Osaka or Kyoto. There are many convenient stores around. Able to walk to Nara park and shopping center. If you don’t want to walk, the bus station is also very close. The room is clean. They give you a bottle of water everyday which most of hotels in Japan don’t. The hot spring bath is also nice. Everything’s worth my money.

The receptionist was super nice even though I was 5 minutes late to check in since I got lost navigating train stations. The room itself was spacious, clean, and I personally slept well on the bed there. I also walked to Nara Park from the hotel, so it's at a good location. This place was definitely one of my favorite stays in my 2 week Japan trip and it was probably one of the lowest-costing ones too.

The space is a lot bigger than the usual hotel rooms in Japan and the rooms look really nice. I like the location, walking distance to nara park.

The hotel is kind of new; the shower, tub, and toilet in our room are kind of new. The location is excellent, within walking distance to Nara Park, main shopping/restaurant streets, train stations, and bus stops. I don't speak Japanese; I used a translator app on my smart phone to communicate with the staff during check-in and everything went well.

It’s the feeling of staying in a 100 year old home and experience the Japanese style hotel. The location is very good and easy to locate from the station and near Nara park, it’s all walking distance. I’ve had the best experience in Nara in my stay. Thank you!
