Originally opened in 1876, the historic Prairie Hotel is located in Parachilna. It offers an on-site gourmet restaurant, a bar and an art gallery. Accommodation options include single, twin and triple rooms.

The location was amazing out in the Flinders Ranges. The hotel was far above my expectations. The hotel was unique to be in the outback of Australia. Ellie, the manager, was very welcoming & friendly. You could see that Ellie is very proud of her business & rightly deserved. The staff were friendly & the food was great. Even the feral mixed grill & emu paté was lovely. There are self drives from the hotel or you can just relax & do nothing. It certainly is an experience to be have.

Great view and amazing surrounds. The huge trees, the wildlife, and the hike into the Pound are all incredible. Loved the welcome to country given in the late afternoon outside reception. The reception staff were helpful. My safari tent was great, good aircon, nice bed and good shower. It was quite windy and hot while I was there in December but the tent was fine with a small deck to sit outside. Breakfast great as was dinner. The restaurant is really amazing.

The unit was well stocked, comfortable and the views of the Rawnsley range were beautiful. We, enjoyed seeing the Emus and Kangaroos grazing through the park. Loved dinner at The Woolshed restaurant- my husband and I shared the platter.

The location is amazing, so many beautiful walks nearby, the wildlife is breathtaking and right outside your door. The rooms were great, clean and comfortable. Perfect for couples or families. The restaurant was outstanding, the dinners were delicious but the stand out for us were the coffees in the morning-we looked forward to them daily.

The safari tents were great with fantastic views. Lots of kangaroos and other wildlife literally outside the tent. Really comfy beds, good air conditioning and bathrooms. Great place for star gazing at night too as so dark. Staff were all lovely and helpful. Great breakfast and good choice of meals at dinner. We loved it. Family of 5 with 18, 21 & 22 yr old.
