Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

We stayed in this hotel 2 times: on our way to East Iceland and then on our way back. First time we had standard room, with view on a parking lot. The second time they upgraded the room and we had renewed room with the river view. The first room was hotel classics: wooden colors, carpet and a feeling it was a bit outdated. In the second one there was a lot of light and it was renovated not long time ago. In both rooms beds were comfy. There was a TV, a mini fridge and a safe box. Included breakfast was ok to start the day.

Great location, close to everything in Golden Circle and also to Vik, watterfalls on south coast and Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River. We also liked breakfast and helpful staff.

The hostel is in a great location. The coffee lounge area was good and we ate at the picnic benches outside as the weather was glorious. It’s cheap for Iceland and the place is basic. there were some lovely dogs and homemade Icelandic jumpers.
