It was amazing after a long day of hiking and driving.

This Icelandic horse farm provides accommodation in Haukadalur Valley, 90 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik. Overlooking Geysir, it offers a guest lounge, garden and horse riding tours.

And there is a camp site with a nice restaurant very close by. We had dinner there, and it was delicious. The next morning we enjoyed a wonderful horse riding. Lovely experience.

The Barn features a communal kitchen and an information desk. Guests are provided lockers for their personal belongings. A hostel bar is at your disposal. We just loved it! Everything was amazing, totally worth it! Stuff was kind, everythings was clean just wow :) Night before we stayed in 4* hotel and The Barn was 100x better. If we are ever back in Iceland we will definately stay again :) Thank you!

All rooms are fitted with a shared bathroom. Hvoll Guesthouse features free WiFi . Fantastic place, perfect little room. The place has everything you need in the common areas, multiple sinks in the kitchen, lots of tables and chairs. I saw a washing room as well. Our room for 3 was comfortable and had a sink. Bathrooms outside have no issues, they are decently sized. Note that you can't go up from the kitchens in your shoes and you are requested to take them off for the stairs and your room which are carpeted. This is a self check-in accommodation and you can arrive late, like we did at 11PM. The house is located quite away from anything really, you can gaze stars outside in the night. Note that the road leading here is a gravel road, follow your map closely to make the correct turns.

Bakki Apartments & Hostel offers dorm rooms and self-catering apartments by the sea in Eyrarbakki village. WiFi and parking are free. Reykjavík city centre is a 50-minute drive away.

Guest rooms at Skyrhusid HI Hostel have an in-room wash basin. All have access to shared bathroom facilities. Bed linen and towels are included. The property was one of our favourites while doing the ring road. The rooms are very nice and spacious and also have its own sink which is convenient. The kitchen was great because we could basically cook anything and they had complimentary juice and yogurt!
