Our room was large. The hotel has a nice in-house restaurant. Breakfast was included, and their dinner prices are reasonable.

We were met by the lovely host Pálína. Who showed us around and made us feel welcome and at home. She patiently answered the many questions my eight year old had. He was fascinated with all the rocks and books and was happy to have toys and games to play with. All the hotels and places we stayed at in Iceland were clean but this was the cleanest place we stayed at, with so much attention to details. We used the kitchen to prepare some sandwiches. There was one other party of 3 there and it was totally fine. Didn’t use the hot tub and sauna as we had spent the day earlier in a pool, but other party did and said it was good.

When pulling up to the building we were unsure of what we got ourselves into. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the restaurant door to find a room filled with people eating and enjoying themselves. We went to the reception area of the counter and checked in to our rooms, gathered our things and headed up to our rooms. When walking up the stairs there is a sitting area with games, tea, and a refrigerator to store items if needed. The sitting area has a huge picture window with an amazing view of a farm with mountains behind it. The rooms have been updated with a new floor, fresh paint and decor. The mattresses are comfortable, new and clean, the mattress has a clean mattress cover and fresh clean sheets and duvet. The bathroom is smaller, but very clean with shampoo and soap.
Make reservation is you plan to eat in the restaurant, it gets very busy. The food is very good and the staff is so kind. We enjoyed the breadsticks, chicken salad and lamb chops. I would highly recommend this location if you need a stop between the two cities.

The 2 bedroom apartment was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The highlight was the opportunity to help with the horse feedings and interact with a stable of horses and learn more about them and the farm. Hosts were very friendly and informative, and their two sweet dogs and kittens were adorable and we enjoyed interacting with them. Views were beautiful. Highly recommend this stay for those looking for a unique stay with the opportunity to spend time with horses and learn about their farm. And Koluglijufur Canyon and Waterfall is a short drive away and worth visiting.

WOW, the location is absolutely amazing. Right on the water with amazing views. We did not get to see seals however they frequent this location. The home had a washer and drying rack so we were able to do laundry. If you are staying for a longer time there was a great assortment of cooking spices available. Also coffee and tea. The owners had great communication with us.
