Riverside lodge is a fly fishing cabin used for fly fishers during the fishing season. The cabin sleeps a total of 8 guests in 4 rooms. There are actually 2 cabins with 2 rooms in each and a bathroom in each cabin. only one of them has a kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped but only with a stove (no oven) BBQ on the veranda. Really cozy wooden house with views over Tungufljot and Skafta rivers. Close to many of the most beautiful sights in the area.
Riverside Lodge is the best choice for those who are traveling South of Iceland. The house is surrounded by two of the most breathtaking Icelandic glaciers: Mýrdalsjökull (beneath its surface is one of the most explosive and notorious volcanoes in all Iceland, Katla) and Vatnajökull (the largest ice cap in Europe). It is a short driving distance to some of Iceland’s most well-known waterfalls (Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss), as well as many other naturally stunning places such as Dyrhólaey Peninsula (120 meters promenade famed for its staggering views of Iceland’s South Coast), the infamous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Fjarðárgljúfur canyon, or the Lakagigar (Laki) craters (27km long erupting fissure consisting 130 giant craters on the southwest side of Vatnajökull) and Eldhraun lava field.
