Featuring 10 uniquely designed hot spring baths, Shosenkaku Kagetsu provides Japanese-style accommodation just a 5-minute walk from JR Echigo Yuzawa Train Station. Room is very clean. Staffs are also very nice and professional. Onsen is comfortable . But it’s a pity that we haven’t booked their dinner.

Tamakiya Ryokan is located in Tokamachi, 24 km from Yuzawa and 20 km from Nozawa Onsen. Each room at this ryokan is air conditioned and is equipped with a flat-screen TV. Few reasons we chose to stay in Tamakiya: -It locates in a countryside helps us slow down a bit and enjoy the snowy nature. -Great experience while enjoying the in-room Onsen + seeing snowing right in front of us. -Tamakiya offers some great food, both nights we selected the French cuisine with wine, sake pairing. The food was delicious and Yuichi-san shared his marvelous sake pairing technique by bubbling it, added an extra favoring in which the goal is to refine our tasting journey. Of course traditional kanzake (warm sake) was served too during the dinner course.

Located in Sanjo, Rankeisou offers accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. This 4-star ryokan offers free WiFi. The ryokan features a hot spring bath and luggage storage space. This was our best stay at a Ryokan. The serene surroundings, beautiful facilities, and amazing staff who took wonderful care of all our needs. They also catered exceptionally well with wonderful local ingredients for our half vegetarian half non-vegetarian family. AMAZING!

Surrounded by untouched nature, Satoyama Jujo offers eco-friendly designer accommodation boasting natural hot spring baths. Had the most incredible stay at Satoyama Jujo. My wife and I were visiting Japan and in search of a nature retreat from Tokyo for a few nights, and this resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The room was quiet and serene, the baths had stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the food was impeccable. The service was so thoughtful as well; on our last day we were snowed in and couldn't get back to Tokyo, but the hotel made sure we could extend our reservation one night and offered a complimentary taxi to the train station the next day. Hope to be back again one day!

Only a 7-minute walk from Akakura Ski Resort, Hotel Taiko features indoor and outdoor public hot spring baths, massages and a sauna. We loved the vibe and spacious rooms. Location perfect and walking distance to town and ski lifts. Loved breakfast and morning music 🎶

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mount Tanigawa, Hotel Futaba lies on the high plains of the historical Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen hot spring area. Onsen and dinner were excellent

Yuzawa Grand Hotel is within a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Train Station and the Sake Museum. It offers 3 public baths, a massage service and free parking on site. Very nice room, well furnished, on very pretty grounds. We stayed in a three-person Japanese style room, which was set up with two western beds and one futon set on tatami. The hotel provided some sweets that went well with green tea (a tea set is also provided)
