Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. Staying here was like entering another world. We were picked up by a very friendly and helpful driver who pointed out points of interest on the way up to the house on the hill. There we were greeted by a lovely lady who escorted us into the lobby were a friendly, young man checked us in. The lovely lady then escorted us up to our room and showed us were everything was, made us tea and made sure we had fitting yukatas to wear. The room was very spacious with an incredible view over to the iconic "floating" Tori gate. We spent our first our just sitting on the window sill with our tea taking in the breathtaking scenery. Dinner was an adventure of most excellent Japanese cuisine. The private onsen was lovely. It is a hop and a skip down some steps into the village and down to the sea and I recommend a walk at twilight and night to really enjoy the place before the daytripping crowds come in the morning. The staff were so nice and helpful and on the day of departure they offered us to leave our luggage with them while we went for a hike and when it was time to leave we could simply call them from the port and the driver brought it down from the hill in the little car. I would love to stay here again. Just perfect!

Located in the World Heritage Miyajima Island, Iwaso features Japanese-style accommodations with beautiful surrounding views. The attention to detail at this resort was impeccable, as was the quality of service. It is perfectly situated, being far enough away from the crowds, but within easy walking distance of the Torii gate, the "downtown" area, and the ropeway station for the ride up the mountain. Adjacent to the facility is a picturesque stream with the quintessential red colored pedestrian bridge. Be sure to sign up for the delicious breakfast and dinner; the same meal enjoyed by the heads of state at the recent G7 Summit held here. I will definitely be returning with my spouse to bask in the peace and tranquility of Miyajima.

The owner was very sweet and explained everything patiently. The food was great. The room was big and comfortable. It also had a private bathroom, so you could enjoy it on your own comfortably. It also had a great location, just a few minutes away from the Itsukushima Shrine.

The public bath was refreshing and the staff was very helpful. At check-in they gave us tickets for a sample momijimanju, a sort of waffle-like sweet with various fillings.

Itsukushimahigashimonzen Kikugawa ligger i Miyajima, inom 2,3 km från Tsutsumigaura strand och 6 minuters promenad från Toyokuni Shrine Five-Story Pagoda, och erbjuder boende med en gemensam lounge. We loved everything about this stay! The island was magical, the room was so lovely and we enjoyed having traditional breakfast while wearing yukata. The location is excellent as well, both the ferry and tori are so close.
