This was the most elegant and restful stay of my life. Food is incredible - deserves a bib gourmand! Rooms are large and comfortable with a view. Onsen is lovely. The best is the free alcohol and hot drink service in the evenings around the fireplace. Definitely stay here if you can! It’s once in a lifetime type stuff

The dinner set was amazing, especially the a la carte steak menu and the delicious rice ( ot was different from other places ). It was very helpful that there were Thai staff in the hotel ( as we were Thai and it was hard to communicate with Japanese Staff )

The hotel’s services and stuffs are really nice, super polite and helpful. I forgot my aligner (for teeth) in the dining room, and the stuff brought it back to me. Dinner and breakfast are like traditional Japanese made from local ingredients, and most importantly delicious. You will get the real traditional Japanese feeling while staying here. So cool :D

Nice ryokan and Onsen in the room I definitely the highlight. No room service but have a nice lounge with free coffee tea water etc and can work or read a book. Place is in great condition considering how old it is. The public bath is ok nothing special and food is pretty good but again nothing special. Overall we had a nice stay but the place is starting to show its age.

The service was outstanding, this was our first time at a Ryokan and the staff couldn't have been any more helpful. We had to get a little help with the yukata but again the staff were so helpful and patient. Worth the price 100%

Good location to visit Lake Okama and to experience lovely outdoor Onsen in the nearby village. However the top reason to stay here is the wonderfully friendly owners and the beautiful food served for both dinner and breakfast. Simply lovely, helpful people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meigetsuso, Mayuka was our hostess who served our meals, she was charming and helpful and very informative in describing the many dishes served at each meal. The private hot spring bath in the room was a welcome and relaxing feature. We also enjoyed the private rock bath that is available.

Our stay at Saikatei Jidaiya was an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable, we have never seen something quite like this before. We stayed in a room with a private onsen which was squeaky clean and featured a mini garden, that made our stay perfect. If you are looking for a great ryokan experience, this is the place to go.

Definitely our best stay during our trip to Japan. Everything about this place is just exceptional. The room, the food, the onsen, the service, everything was amazing. We had a really memorable stay and felt very sad when we had to leave :( Our favorite part was when the staff explained all the food in front of us during breakfast and dinner, like storytelling. If you're looking for an ultimate ryokan experience, then this is it. We will be back for sure.

Our first Ryokan experience and it didn't disappoint. We love our room and the private onsen inside! And the view from our room was breathtaking. We also enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. The staff doesn't speak much English but they tried very hard to help and accommodate our needs, we really appreciate that.
