I chose Chimney Corners Resort as the place to celebrate my partner Jennifer's 50th Birthday and also to propose to her after eight years together as a couple. We stayed at the West Hills 1 cabin, which was directly across the street from Crystal Lake, and had a lakeview out of our living room window. The cabin was well-appointed, very clean and cozy, and came with all of the kitchen amenities (including a large coffee maker). The bed was very comfortable. It is perfectly located on Crystal Lake, and we had Jenn's birthday dinner at Rocks Landing, which was literally right across the street from our cabin. The place is also close to Lake Michigan beaches at Frankfort, where there was plenty of restaurants and a grocery store for supplies. In addition, it is less than an hour drive from Traverse City, where we got some great Cornish pasties and then drove up the Peninsula that divides East and West Grand Traverse Bay (which was fun to explore!). I would highly recommend Chimney Corners Resort as a perfect getaway for couples, and we definitely plan on returning there again, as our stay was fantastic!

This beachfront hotel on Lake Huron features private lake access and free WiFi access in every guest room. Ferries to Mackinac Island can be reached in 10 minutes’ drive. Hotel very pretty, very clean and staff Friendly!! Definitely would recommend this place!!

Located on Silver Lake with views of the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Silver sands resort has a seasonal outdoor pool. Both free WiFi and private parking are available at this property. Such a nice place to stay. Staff was welcoming and kind. Would go back in a heart beat!

Offering a private beach area and water sports facilities, Tawas Bay Beach Resort & Conference Center is set in East Tawas. The resort has an indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna. the breakfast was good,the dinner the night before was good too. the wait staff did a great job. We will definitely will stay there again. The location was great because you could walk to the downtown area from the resort!!

All rooms include a TV with cable channels. Rooms have a private bathroom fitted with a bath or shower. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hairdryer. Loved the bonefire with s’mores in the town
