Featuring direct beach access, this resort has a barbecue area overlooking the ocean. Each self-contained apartment includes a private balcony or patio. We stayed on the top floor in an apartment facing the ocean. I think it was number 8. It was perfect. We could cook our own meals in the well equipped full kitchen. It was well laid out to sleep a family of 4 and the beds were comfortable. We slept so well because of the black out blinds and lapping ocean just outside, My 22 year old daughter enjoyed using the trampoline and we both enjoyed the hot tub and having our meals on our balcony overlooking the beautiful view, The hosts were also lovely and very helpful with suggestions as to things to do. it was well located to walk and drive to different sites to visit in the surrounding areas. A nice bonus is it also had Netflix to relax at night with a movie, Because of the lack of noise and light pollution, star gazing was at its best. I would highly recommend this property.

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort is just 800 metres from Lake Taupo crater lake. It has a natural thermal spa and is only 5 minutes' drive from the Taupo town centre. Free Wi-Fi is available. Had an absolutely wonderful time here, room was perfect, staff awesome, facilities great and the cream on the top was a wonderful location. This has been on our bucket list for a while and am soooooo happy we went and will most definitely go again and recommend to others 😊

Beachside Resort Motel is less than 5 minutes walk from Whitianga centre and less than 100 metres from Buffalo Beach. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a tennis court. The location was very good. Our 2nd floor room had good views of the bay. We could walk to the CBD. The pool area was large and was an excellent place to relax.

You can walk to Cathedral Cove from Hahei Beach Resort, follow the beach and connect to the Cathedral Cove walkway (the walk takes about 1 hour each way). The Hahei Beach Resort is directly on the beach. It’s easy to go swimming or watch the sunrise or sunset.

Just 8 minutes’ walk from Whangamata Beach, Palm Pacific Resort & Motel boasts an outdoor pool, a hot tub and a tennis court. The location and how close it was to everything.

Located on The Esplanade overlooking Tairua Harbour, Paku Lodge Resort offers self-contained accommodation with a private balcony and harbour views. Great sized room - well equipped for cooking, balcony with a great view, parking right outside the room door, a hose to wash your feet before entering; this resort was the perfect place to stay. Our room was so close to the beach that we could put our baby down for a nap and the monitor would reach us on the beach. We were able to book an additional night luckily due to a cancellation - we only planned to stay for a night but this area is so beautiful we wanted to stay longer. The beach in this area is full of families.

Located next to the Lost Spring Thermal Pools, this resort offers direct access to Buffalo Beach and has a heated outdoor pool, tennis court and a children's playground. The pool was an absolute win. Great location
