Facing the seafront in Kota Belud, Bigfin beach resort features a private beach area. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a garden. The property provides sea views and a terrace. Feels like a hidden gem and private paradise. Great dive shop with charismatic guides, nice boat, sufficient equipment. Great to wake up to a view of Mt Kinabalu and all the food was really lovely home cooking and tasted great. It felt like living in a little community for a couple of days :)

Set amidst a nature reserve overlooking the South China Sea, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu features relaxing stays in elegantly furnished guest rooms. The warm and friendly staff which made me feel really welcomed to the resort. They were accommodating when I booked a room for 3 adults, whereby they provided a portable bed (even when I didn’t request for it). The breakfast was amazing- loads of selections- local and western food. The large bathtub outside the balcony. Beautiful view of the sea from the balcony and comfortable seats to soak in the scenery. Facilities-the jacuzzi, large pool. The water was crystal clear. The garden was well kept.

Super friendly owners. We were hungry when we arrived and they were making chicken curry for their lunch, and added us to the preparations. Very unique location. I slept really well then off the next day for diving.

From the moment you arrive to when you leave. Hani, one of the managers made sure we were completely taken care of. She went above and beyond. All the waiters and waitresses were professional and courteous. The nature guides were amazing at emphasizing the importance of conservation and preservation. I cannot say enough great things about the people that make a beautiful place almost magical. We have traveled extensively and this by far was the best resort we have ever stayed at.

Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is a nature retreat in Sandakan, a 15-minute walk from the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. staff were really friendly & great to chat to, food was excellent- good variety to satisfy all dietary preferences (tasty cocktails too!) location,scenery, building structures & grounds were really well designed. Can see a lot of wildlife around. Bungalows we’re clean, comfortable & constructed from local natural materials. LOVE THE OUTDOOR SHOWER!!!! Thanks to Ju, Wan & Ein for a really enjoyable stay - sorry for spelling ur names wrong 😂 Also, thanks to Steve, the dog! He’s just the best! 😍 Hope to see u all again ☺️🥰
