So cool to sit on the balcony and see the falls from your room. There are telephone lines in the view, but for the budget price of this place they do a fantastic job. They were always available and were quite helpful with everything, including tour advice, etc. Highly recommend.

The room was clean, good size and comfortable. The owner is very kind and helpful. We had a great view of Gocta waterfall from our room and of the surrounding mountains from the balcony. The hotel is real close to the start of the hike to the waterfall, and a short walk to the center of town. Breakfast is at a local restaurant and he'll take you in his mototaxi if you want. And has hot water for the shower.

A lovely homestay in the heart of Cuispes. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here as well. Hot shower, comfy bed and wifi. They helped us get to the waterfalls as well. It's more remote than most towns, so you need to try and plan ahead a bit, like what time you want to eat, what time you want to go somewhere etc. 10 soles per person in a mototaxi to get from Pedro Ruiz and 10 soles per person to get to the start of the waterfalls (don't walk, it's 5km, uphill on a dirt road).

Chachapoyas has sooo much potential that is unrealized. Rough poor roads, poor tourist amenities, and many inaccessible places wo worth seeing. That being said, don't miss it. Kuelap, the sarcaphogi, revash, museo leymebamba. There's much more than the local guides know, and it inspires one to think of how it was before the Inca and Spanish Conquerers. If they would turn the plaza more into a tourist attraction, it would be great with some drinking establishmens and outdoor seating. Don't miss the great strip on Amazonas with restaurants and shops!
