We stayed at this hotel because Booking.com managed to book us into a hotel which does not exist (The Ponderosa in Custer). Apparently they will refund us the difference in the costs between the two hotels, because booking the Bavarian Inn on the day of the Custer round-up was not cheap. On the plus side this is a wonderful hotel, great staff, swimming pool, jacuzzi, games, milk and cookie time in the afternoon, great room, comfortable bed, alas we had to be up at 4am for the round-up so missed breakfast.

The location was perfect for visiting north west South Dakota - an hour from everything we wanted to see, the badlands, bear lodge (devils tower) the needles, Custer state park etc. The price was amazing for the quality of the motel. It’s clean, not in disrepair, the beds were comfy and the shower was great. The best part was definitely the owners - Rhonda and Jake went above and beyond to take care of us. They stored our kayaks for us while we stayed with them as we didn’t want to drag them around with us what out exploring. They couldn’t have helped us more! They are the best motel hosts I’ve ever experienced and I stay in motels a LOT. We can’t wait to come back and visit with them again!

The location is absolutely beautiful and super close to all the beautiful hiking spots and attractions in the area. The hot tub was a nice bonus to come back to after a long day of travel and hiking. The cabin was clean and comfortable! There are fire pits and grills for the perfect outdoor experience. Daniela was so kind and attended to what we needed. She is the best. We can’t wait to visit again!

Big Sky Lodge is located in Rapid City. Free WiFi access is available. A private entrance, a seating area with a cable TV and an en suite bathroom are included in all rooms at Big Sky Lodge Rapid... It was a wonderful Motel. The staff was incredible and very helpful. The location was perfect. It is off the beaten path so very quiet. It is also very convenient for site seeing. I highly suggest this Motel.

Featuring an indoor pool, Best Western Buffalo Ridge Inn Near Mt Rushmore is located in Custer. Free WiFi access is available. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is 30 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Very well located motel near downton Custer with clean and spacious rooms. Our beds were comfortable and we could park right in front of our room. Breakfast was very good with free coffee available at all times. Staff was very friendly and helped immediately to fix the settings on the heating as it got a bit too cold the first night. Very great value for money for this place.
