Located in Rapid City, 33 km from Mount Rushmore, TKTK provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property is non-smoking and is set 7.5 km from Journey Museum. This is a hidden gem in the Rapid city! They are so friendly. The night view was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel. Especially for the family.

Featuring a covered pavilion with barbecue facilities and a fire pit, Rocket Motel is located in Custer. Free WiFi access is available. You were warmly welcome and felt right at home. Cute retro looking, rooms ample space plus fridge and microwave. Beds comfortable, great water flow and nice and hot.

Featuring both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, this Custer, South Dakota motel is 25 minutes' drive from Mount Rushmore National Monument. Each guest room is equipped with free WiFi. We stayed at this hotel because Booking.com managed to book us into a hotel which does not exist (The Ponderosa in Custer). Apparently they will refund us the difference in the costs between the two hotels, because booking the Bavarian Inn on the day of the Custer round-up was not cheap. On the plus side this is a wonderful hotel, great staff, swimming pool, jacuzzi, games, milk and cookie time in the afternoon, great room, comfortable bed, alas we had to be up at 4am for the round-up so missed breakfast.
The Sturgis Motel

Situated in Sturgis, 46 km from Journey Museum, The Sturgis Motel features views of the mountain. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The location was perfect for visiting north west South Dakota - an hour from everything we wanted to see, the badlands, bear lodge (devils tower) the needles, Custer state park etc. The price was amazing for the quality of the motel. It’s clean, not in disrepair, the beds were comfy and the shower was great. The best part was definitely the owners - Rhonda and Jake went above and beyond to take care of us. They stored our kayaks for us while we stayed with them as we didn’t want to drag them around with us what out exploring. They couldn’t have helped us more! They are the best motel hosts I’ve ever experienced and I stay in motels a LOT. We can’t wait to come back and visit with them again!

Offering a barbecue and hot tub, Harney Camp Cabins is 7.8 km from Hill City. Free private parking is available on site. The location is absolutely beautiful and super close to all the beautiful hiking spots and attractions in the area. The hot tub was a nice bonus to come back to after a long day of travel and hiking. The cabin was clean and comfortable! There are fire pits and grills for the perfect outdoor experience. Daniela was so kind and attended to what we needed. She is the best. We can’t wait to visit again!

Providing free WiFi, a sun terrace with a swimming pool and barbecue facilities, Badlands Hotel & Campground is located in Interior. Unbeatable location, very close to the gate of Badlands National Park. We booked a budget room but it turned out to be better than expected, spacious, well-lit, had a working desk with chair. The bathroom with shower was also spacious. The bed was comfy. Old furnitures but not a problem for us.
