Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City. Everything! The excellent staff, the facilities, the view from the room and the shower outside (OMG), the food (everyday a different and more delicious option), amazing breakfast choices, the game drives!!! A special thank you and recomendation to our guide: Peace!!! He is a great guide, with very good ethics to approach the animals, giving us plenty of information about nature and being very good-humoured and kind. To us, it was the perfect place for our honeymoon.

Situated in Madikwe Game Reserve, Tau Game Lodge provides luxury accommodation with air conditioning and access to a private deck. Complimentary WiFi is available. All the food (lunch especially) was absolutely wonderful. Game drives were also excellent and the knowledge of the rangers is impressive. Outside shower fantastic!!!!

It was by far the most exceptional travel we have ever done (and we travel quite a bit). The lodge is absolutely gorgeous and I’d like to highlight that the pictures DO NOT do justice to the actual look of the place. The safari rides are exceptional and Madikwe is truly a beautiful reserve. From game drives, to brunch, high tea, dinner, massage, library with tons of books, chessboards available for random games, swimming pools, lounges around the lodge… you will never be bored and will be left with tons of memories. Finally to conclude - we would like to particularly highlight the STAFF, possibly the best experience we ever had. Our ranger Ryan has shown exceptional professionalism & impeccable service in everything he was doing. We were touched by his passion for his job and animals, and truly felt like we were going on drives with a living encyclopedia, amazing! We always felt safe during the rides and overall very well taken care of – from the first moment we got to know him, to the “good-mood wake up calls at 4:30am”, until the very last transfer to our airplane back to Johannesburg where he “winged at us” while we were taking off. Linda has been wonderful in welcoming us to the property, teaching us about baboons and elephants around the lodge and joking around with us. Spa, the executive chef, delivered the most amazing dishes, showed us the wine cave and was really looking after every experience with great attention and amiability. The overall staff taking care of the kitchen and rooms were wonderful with a true 5 stars attention to detail and care, with a welcome drink at any point in time. You know what we mean when one week after the trip, we are STILL talking about the Impodimo lodge and its wonderful team. Thank you!
