We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, breakfasts, and kindness of the owners! It is a 2-minute walk from a bus stop directly on the Nozawa Onsen bus line. You can either take the bus to Nozawa Onsen every morning for free or walk about 10 minutes. You can either sign up in the morning to use the bath in-house bath or you can choose from the many public onsens nearby. Great cost-performance hostel!大大山大助Japan

The place was a shambles, filthy dirty, in disrepair and not ready to be rented out. It looked like it had been sparsely furnished with castoff, donated furniture, worn out appliances and ancient kitchenware. I cannot believe I paid $380USD per night to stay in this uncomfortable and filthy dump. I've never been so dissapointed in an apartment rental as I have been with NOZAWA ONSEN BASECAMP. I want my money back!

The hotel lives up to its name, you have a great view over Nozawa Onsen from the upper floors. Be aware it’s a bit of a walk to the ski slopes. The breakfast was good, but it’s a Japanese set. Your western options are limited to some cereals, so you better like some fish in the morning. I’d stay again.
