Among the pretentious and pricey brand name stores are a few pleasant cafes and restaurants, from which one can watch stylishly dressed Italians, and frumpy foreigners traipse along without fear of traffic.

Horrible to get through with psychotic drivers and suicide jockeys on motorcycles and scooters. Pedestrians tended to cluster in the middle of the street blocking traffic. Perhaps in April, this city would be a better place to visit but in August, it is severely hot and dangerous to attempt to drive anywhere.

Top tourist hangout!
Top tourist hangout! Lots of similar restaurants offering similar priced meals. Overpriced clothing and jewelry shops. Beautiful location and sights though. The town is really nice without the crowds. The people were pretty friendly. The euros flow like water.

The old buildings are overwhelming, the street itself a trip back to time! Unfortunately far too crowded and noisy that one cannot really enjoy its beauty... Early morning hours are the best for a stroll and an undisturbed photo shooting.

Our hotel was right on the Main Street through town.
Our hotel was right on the Main Street through town. Pedestrians only here!! Explore all of the small alleys on either side. Go up and down and you will find interesting shops, less touristic restaurants and pretty little streets.

People are talking about Corso Umberto! Explore guest hotel reviews featuring "Corso Umberto"
An amazing luxury apartment overlooking Corso Umberto just feet from the Porta Catania. Incredibly well-designed with everything that one would need. Despite its central location, street noise was at a minimum due to very thick windows. Antonella was a fantastic host and provided us with lots of local (and personalized) recommendations. Giuseppe owns a shop across the street which happens to be the best wine store in all of Taormina -- check out his selection of incredibly hard to find Frank Cornelissen wines!
This was a clean, comfortable hotel in Taormina, close to the Corso Umberto. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful in every way. Upon arrival, they sat down with us and offered suggestions for tours and activities they could arrange for us. Any time we needed a taxi or dinner reservations, they set them up for us.
Our room had a large terrace overlooking the sea, the views were beautiful.
The location was great, right in the center of town. The apartment was clean and stocked well. Easy walk to Corso Umberto. We also liked that there was parking available at the apartment garage, this was very convenient since the parking in Taormina is nearly impossible.
Hotel Sirius's location is excellent, just a short walk away from the cable car and Corso Umberto. The valet parking service was very convenient. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and coffee, especially scrambled eggs. The view from our room was unmatched, absolutely breathtaking. The hotel's pool was very nice; we enjoyed spritzes with great poolside views. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return the next time I visit Taormina.
Everything is good: the location - close to Corso Umberto and the bus station. It's a clean, pleasant and modern apartment, and we'll definitely be coming back. You feel at home in this apartment: you have everything you need, the owner has thought of every detail. The location is perfect: you can go anywhere from the bus station, and in the evening you're close to the center of Taormina.
The location is perfect! Right in the heart of Taormina as you step out your front door and you can feel the vibe of Taormina immediately, yet despite being located a literally few steps from Corso Umberto, the apartment was very quite. Very clean, well-equipped, and Jess was an amazing host who was always available for guidance.
There was no breakfast option on this two bedroom apartment. None was expected. The location is very good, in central Taormina close to Corso Umberto where the shops and restaurants are.
The apartment was very comfortable, spacious and clean and the location is excellent being just a one minute walk from Corso Umberto (main street in Taormina). The owner was very welcoming and recommended various restaurants and attractions and was extremely helpful with information about buses and trains.
Awesome location just a few steps from Corso Umberto which is where you want to be in Taormina. However, it was not noisy. Apartment was impeccably clean and safe. Catarina was a greeat host.
The hotel is very well located in Taormina, close to Corso Umberto, bus terminal and cable car station. The hotel was very clean and comfort. The room was spacious, with a nice view, good bed, air conditionating, tv, excellent bathroom and shower. The staff was very polite and sympathetic. Highly recommend!
