I always wanted to stay here a night and enjoy dining room tasting menu. The staff were all so great, friendly and helpful. Never been during winter season but so calm & private compare to summer time which was nice. Room was so elegant and clean. They have downtime service. We had an aperitif at the bar downstairs then had dinner at dining room. Very interesting & fine wine paring experience. Food was just so “right” and enjoy little chat with our waiter who is very knowledgeable. Over all we had such a wonderful time. Any special occasion to celebrate, this is the place to be.

Situated just 1 block from Washington Square in Newport, Rhode Island city centre, this historic inn is a federal-style building that was once the Newport county jail and police station. Enjoyed every minute. We had problems with our rental car and lady on reception was incredibly helpful. Great location and atmosphere.
