Fantastic place. Perfect in every way. Very tastefully restored building. Extremely clean and comfortable. Seriously better than a 5 star hotel. We got a very warm welcome from Justin and everyone we met in town were so friendly.We stopped on way from O’Hare to Springfield and sorry we only had a one night stay as it’s a beautiful small town with lots of character and good eating places. We had dinner in Sovereign , a one minute walk away as recommended and had a lovely meal.

Built in 1894, this Illinois inn is located along the Ohio River and features rooms with Victorian furnishings and modern upgrades. Loved the mansion! Comfortable and felt like home, plenty of fun decor to look at and I love a place with good bones and character. Amazing wine selection and a friendly host/family. Golconda is a cute little town and the location was convenient to our hiking plans for the following day

The staff was friendly at the front desk, but the lady serving breakfast was more interested in what was happening with the phone. When asked what I would like for breakfast, I said a waffle, one egg, and a piece of sausage.
