The cottage was beautiful and super comfortable. The pub food was delicious, as was the breakfast and the staff were warm and welcoming.

It was very easy to go to Sainsbury's and buy some items. What an excellent base to have a look at Galloway and it was very easy to find my way around. I need to return and explore the surroundings even more.

The service was unmatched, every member of staff were helpful, efficient and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The restaurant menu was great - a lot of variety especially with the specials menu changing frequently too. Breakfast was also a winner, continental and a full Scottish breakfast if you wanted (you could pick as many or as less items as wanted). The hotel is more than 300 years old so it was lovely staying somewhere that holds a small amount of history.
