Sønderborg Airport is an hour’s drive away. Peaceful location in lovely grounds. Not a standard hotel - a bit more communal (unforced) eg all eat dinner at 6 pm with a focus on finding peace and slowing down . Many rooms to read and study in. The manager showed us around and explained the concept even though we were really just passing through. Also very good value for money by Danish standards

The restaurant serves a la carte lunch and dinner, and has an all-day coffee and cocktailbar. We liked every single thing about the property! The rooms are spacious with a sofa, kettle and two desks, the bathroom was bare but spacious. The breakfast was lovely, the staff super friendly, funny and chatty. There are also two water bikes available to use on the river and there’s even a spot outside (that isn’t part of the hotel) with picnic tables. The decor is lovely and the beds are super comfortable.

The sandy Sønderstrand Beach is 8 km from the inn. The German town of Flensburg is 38 km away. The location was ideal for our visit! A short walk to my Aunt’s house! The breakfast was amazing: huge selection of delicious food and drink! Take away dinner was very high quality and portions were large!
