It was like a home away from home. At first we were a bit concerned about the room and bathroom size but these were not an issue as we fitted without a problem. The ‘old pub feel’ was very relaxing, it was nice to come ‘home’ after a busy day sightseeing and relax in the lounge before dinner. Our host (Sue) was amazing and her suggestions for things to do were great - as were her breakfasts! At the end of our 4 day stay she felt like a friend.

This Inn has the perfect location for discovering Brecon Beacons. It is very conveniently located, making it easy to access hikes, to visit local restaurants and pubs. But what stood out the most is the hospitality received from Gail; throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. She has such a fantastic energy and it made our experience in Wales unforgettable. Thank you!

Everything was superb during our stay. Excellent communication prior to our arrival, we knew where to park and how to get into the premises. The owners were very helpful and attentive. Our room was as described, very clean, tea/coffee making, fresh water and even home made cake. The breakfast was wonderful, very good choice, lots of it and good ingredients.. We walked up Pen-y-fan which is only a 10 minute drive. We also had 2 very good meals in Brecon, The Brecon tandoori and especially The Hop inn Gin bar which served superb tapas.

Breakfast was good- and our dinner was also good- there’s obviously a decent chef working here. The eating rooms were nice and better kept up than the sleeping part of the hotel.

Such a warm welcome on arrival - Jack and Jessica are super hosts/ innkeepers who are naturally warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our 2 night stay any more comfortable and enjoyable. The inn is quiet, clean and fresh and loved the crisp white bed linen! Beautiful garden to relax in and situated in an excellent location close to Hay on Wye and just a few minutes walk away from the beautiful River . Couldn’t have picked a nicer place to stay..
