Just beside the River Thames, The Trout at Tadpole Bridge enjoys an idyllic location between Oxford and the Cotswolds. Less than 3 miles from the village of Bampton, this award-winning 17th-century inn provides luxurious rooms and high-quality dining recommended by, among others, the Good Food Guide.

We had the loveliest time staying at The Trout. It was everything we wanted in a countryside escape and more - the pub had excellent food and great beers, the historical building and surrounding area were gorgeous, the room was cosy and comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. What really made our stay here extra special though was the generosity and warmth of the management. The team here truly understands hospitality and will make you feel not just welcome, but at home. Highly recommended!

The Lamb is a historical Cotswold Inn that dates back to the 15th century. The Inn is located in the centre of Burford and offers 17 individually-designed bedrooms, a collection of sitting rooms, a traditional English bar and an award-winning restaurant.

Cosy comfortable bedrooms, with all the amenities we needed. The inn has beautiful stone fireplaces with lots of big sofas- we spent time inside playing from their selection of board games to avoid the rain! Dinner was delicious and staff were fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely great value for money.

The shower in the compact bathroom was excellent, the double bed was comfortable and the available television entertainment gave us plenty of variety. The hotel location was just where we needed to be. Breakfast, too, was good and nicely cooked to order. The staff were very personable and amenable and what dinner we had was enjoyable and cooked to order.

The rooms are in a separate building behind the pub. Mine was cozy and warm and I could park right outside the door, which made for an easy luggage carry. The staff were really great; helpful and friendly, which makes a big difference I think. I didn't eat dinner but the full English breakfast was very good.
