Tuckaway is an owner-run and managed guest house, situated on the well-known Broadlands Stud Farm just outside of Somerset West. The farm is just 6 km from the beach and 10 km from the Somerset Mall. Your hosts, Gary and Sarah, look forward to welcoming you. Accommodation is offered in The Bay Suite which is ideal for a couple to enjoy a relaxed holiday, or a single person looking for a place to stay, even if it is just to be in a stunning environment so you can find yourself again. The suite has its own private entrance through double cottage-pane door. The bedroom contains a queen-size bed, beside tables with lamps, and a full en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower, a hand wash basin and a toilet. The suite includes a TV with Netflix, Showmax, Amazon Prime and YouTube, surround sound, Wi-Fi internet access, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a remote-controlled ceiling fan, and a wall-panel heater. With the large bay window and double door, you get beautiful views onto the garden which is populated with many indigenous trees with incredible bird life.

Sarah and I love living in a our semi-rural environment. We have surrounded ourselves with indigenous trees and love the pair of Eagle Owls that live in the garden. We have guinea fowl, egyptian geese, ducks, peacocks, weavers, sparrows and various other birds visiting our growing garden daily. We love our Land Rover Discovery and look forward to spending some time outdoors when we go out with our 4x4 club every month. I work sometimes from home or go out to list and show farms that I sell. I simply love driving out into our beautiful winelands to "work". We love being at home because it is our comfort zone and we hope that our guests feel the same way.

Our property lies right in the heart of the soon to be developed Helderberg Wine route which his going to be a great feature. The farm is situated in an agricultural belt so even though you have that rural feel, you are only 10km from one of the biggest shopping malls in the Southern Hemisphere offering A-grade shopping and amazing restaurants once you need to re-charge. We are just 8km from wonderful beaches with bikini beach being our favourite to visit. The beach is blue flagged meaning safe to swim with pristine water conditions. We also have the Blue Rock water skiing facility right next door where you can go skiing in an old quarry being pulled around with automated ski poles. Lots of fun to be had here. There is the very well known Winelands area just 15km away offering stunning historic wine farms to visit where you can sample wine or just sit under old oaks and enjoy wine or just a coffee if that pleases you. The farm itself offers you a chance to sit under our trees to just enjoy the feeling of being in nature where you can light a fire and have a braai (barbeque) with a good bottle of wine. This area is really central with a drive around the coast a must.
