Dating back till the 18th century Riad Porte Royale was restored by the owner, a British architect and novelist. A dreamy space with plenty of corners to chill out in, you will discover the 'art of zenplicity'. Breakfast is included. We practise ecotourism as far as possible, and in the en-suite bathrooms, the base of our bio-toiletries is the famous argan oil. We have been recommended by famous travel guides, newspapers, magazines and blogs.

Within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Marrakech, the riad is the spiritual heart of the old city, which gives an authentic insight to local life. Ideally located in the north-west, we are 15 minutes walk from top tourist sites both new and old, such as the Majorelle Garden and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, or the shrine complex of the patron saint of the city Sidi Bel Abbès and the stunning Medersa Ben Youssef. A 20-25 minute walk via the magical souks takes you to Djemma El Fna, with its story tellers, snake charmers, acrobats, musicians and food stalls. Better still, 2 minutes from the Riad we have the best access by car or by taxi, perfect for a fast transfer to the airport, heading off on a day trip or if you feel tired after a long day and a few adventures in the old city! Should you want to stay close to home one evening, we are near well-known restaurants such as I Limoni, Dar Zillij and famous Dar Yacout—as well little kebab shops. Alternatively you can order a three course dinner at the riad in advance. The neighbourhood is also the home of the Hermès family!
