The private room is spacious and was cool even during a very hot day, and is conveniently located right by the toilet and bathroom. The futons in the room were really comfortable and we slept great. But make sure to bring earplugs, because the walls are literally paper so you can hear everything from the adjacent living room and hallway . Also remember to bring your own towel as the place does not offer this. The guest house is quite a walk from the main station, but bus stops (also ones for JR Buses covered by the JR Pass, or for the loop line) are close. The Kenrokuen garden is also at a walking distance.

The facility was well kept and thoughtfully designed. From the motion sensors for the lights in the stairs to the pamplets for things to see around Kanazawa! For solo travellers, I would recommend paying a little extra to get your own room! Note it's in the same room with the bunks but you have a wall (with a small section of the wall towards the ceiling that's open) for privacy. The staff was very kind and explained everything with great detail!
