if you want to experience a real Japanese staying you should definitely stay at Chiyo and Takao’s guest house! The traditional room is very clean, comfortable, quite and beautiful! downstairs there is a well equipped (shared) bathroom. The view on the garden is peaceful. The plus is the extreme availability and kindness of the owners who helped us in all we needed! really hope to meet the owners again and arrange a good cup of coffee with the Italian machine! We had a great time staying at this historic place right in the center of Kanazawa's Higashi Chaya District. The owner and hosts are super friendly and helpful, speak English, and provide a number of great recommendations for restaurants in the area. The traditional Japanese style room is truly special.

The hostess is amazingly kind and friendly. Many thanks for that. Very helpful and replies quickly with good information. Besides that, the hostess speaks English very well. The house gave me a lovely authentic traditional feeling. The space is very big in my opinion and has lots of appliances. Most of the things have English instructions with them. Besides that the house is very clean. There is a bus stop very close to the house, but most of the things are within walking distance for me.

Very lovely guest house with a great host. Pleasant change to the usual choice of more or less soulless hotels if you want something more unique. I visited for a couple of days to see Kanazawa. Would definitely choose this accommodation again. Medium-duration walk to the city centre.

Host Noto was very welcoming and gracious, it was a well kept and clean guesthouse and I’m sure it is very suitable for overnight travellers. We liked the experience of sleeping on a futon and the tatami mats.

The hosts were immensely kind and helpful. The guest house is in a good location. The old samurai district, markets, or station are all a brief walk away. Lastly, the room was clean and warm. And of course, Gao the dog is lovley to meet.

We were invited to their bar to have one free drink which was an incredible experience since there was free micro. Everyone could play and there were some great artists. It was so fun and the hosts were so friendly. It was a lovely evening and we felt very welcomned. Also the place of stay is very quiet. There was no street noise.
