Kamifurano House is a cozy and comfortable mix of traditional and modern in a quiet Japanese town. Recently refurbished, with eco-sourced modern furniture, you can take your pick of the tatami room with sleeping futons, or Western/European style rooms and beds. It has a spacious central lounge and dining room living area, with a balcony where you can watch the beautiful sunset or watch Grace, the neighbor's Shiba Inu, going for her walks. The owners have gathered information and flyers from their favorite local spots and recommendations, and arranged them for you in the welcome area. As well as the comfortable living area, the entire bottom floor of the Kamifurano House contains a spacious garage with two covered and secure parking spaces, and a dry room for ski and snowboard gear.

We are from Japan and Aotearoa (New Zealand)! We renovated this house ourselves, and are very proud of it. We wish we could stay in it all the time! We love Kamifurano and are very happy to have found a house that was sitting empty, and to be able to use it to bring more life and tourism to the area and to the amazing people and businesses nearby. We love skiing, enjoying the lovely summer climate and flowers, and trying out lots of yummy Japanese food! We hope you will also fall in love with Kamifurano.

Enjoy living in a quiet neighborhood in a small town, only a short drive from the mountains and fields, and walking distance from lots of excellent local cafes, restaurants and bars. For winter visitors, Furano Ski Resort is only 30 minutes drive away, with a selection of other ski resorts within an hours drive. For summer visitors, Kamifurano’s wonderful flower fields are only 10 minutes drive away. Kamifurano House is near the base of Furano mountain, which has lots of great walking trails. Make sure to visit Fukiage open air onsen. 25 minutes drive into the mountain, this free onsen has rock pools with natural hot springs. Great in summer and winter, you can go there at night and look at the stars while you soak. There are lots of yummy restaurants and cafes within 5-10 minutes walk - we can recommend Furano cafe, in the town centre (10 minutes walk), which provides impeccable service and beautiful coffee art! There are also some gorgeous spots hidden within a short driving distance. Kaneko coffee beans cafe (KCB cafe) has amazing views of the fields, as well as farm animals that you can pet. Kawaii!! Navo Vegan cafe is also worth visiting, with an incredible hand-crafted interior and paintwork, all done by the family owners. If you feel like some nightlife, around ginnza street is a 10 minute walk away, a street with many ‘snack bars’ on it (small Japanese bars that have karaoke and serve nibbles). For a bigger nightlife experience you can visit Furano, or the cities of Asahikawa or Sapporo, via the nearby train station. Kamifurano House is only a 20 minute walk from Kamifurano Station. If you are planning to ski or travel into the mountains we recommend renting a car from Asahikawa or Furano, depending where you are arriving from.
