There is a dog. Do I need to say more? Shes very friendly and loves pets. Everything else is good but shes the cherry on top making it great.

-The location was easy to find. It was just a short bus ride + a very short walk to get to the place. -The breakfast was delicious and clearly made with love. ごちそうさまでした！ -I really liked the decorations and details of this guesthouse. They give it warm, friendly vibes and make it look more cozy and welcoming. -The bathroom was real interesting haha -The owner was super kind and respectful. The doggy was sweet. Moreover, locals came to have a drink there so I can say that staying at this guesthouse provided me with an opportunity to talk to local people.

I had a fantastic stay here, thank you! Staff/Dog were very friendly and helped me plot a big hike. Onsen bath was a treat - hot, but fine if you scoop out some of the water and run the cold tap. And the cherry on the top for me was the lounge/cafe - it was a very sociable space in the evenings and I met some great people :)

The staff is so friendly! I met the most amazing friend in the bar and we explored Hakone the whole day together! The Onsen was so so hot! The food they made for breakfast and dinner was simple but super tasty! And the dog was so clean and polite and friendly! His name is rum-chan and I love him! I want to go back one day. It is a really beautiful walk from the guesthouse to the open air museum.

A great hostel with very friendly hosts (including the cute dog Rum). The private room was very nice (although avoid bringing big luggage!). Bonus points for a cosy lounge/bar that you can have meals/drinks with other guests (and even practice your Japanese if this is your game).

The sheets where so comfortable, my room felt like a traditional japanese dormitory where you sleep directly on the floor (over a very comfortable mattress) and I had the luck to have a shared dormitory for three people just for myself The host was super nice and helpful and the dog was adorable. I needed a long sleep and that room was perfect for it because it allows you to block all the external lights if you want to.
