The land all around the creek is ours, and please feel free to take a walk in nature. We have horses that you can visit and pet, but please don't feed them. The light stream (creek) is mostly very shallow, please notice the spots where the deep is. Somewhere in the creek, you can easily walk in if you'd like to. There is a bridge that you can use to cross the creek. You can walk further if you like, it's our land, and you can walk around it freely. We have a small house on the other side of the creek, which is for our saddleries and riding clothes. The highlands are just 1-2 hours' drive away by car and in a popular place like Landmannalaugar you can visit and hike there. The big mountain you see from the Living room is Mt. Hekla, the volcano, other mountains are Búrfell, Bjólfell, Selsundsfjall, Vatnafjöll, Þríhyrningur, and you can also see the enormous glacier Eyjafjallajökull (on the right) that erupted in 2010. Nearest grocery store: Kjörbúðin in Hella or Bónus in Selfoss and at Hvolsvöllur. The gas station by Landvegamót (Olís) has a small grocery store. It is best to rent a car to access our property.
