Hello I'm Paula - the owner of Mews Cottage. I enjoy spending my time drinking great coffee in relaxed cafes enjoying beautiful scenery. I have lived, brought up my 3 children and worked as a Primary School Teacher in the area for over 30 years. I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and now would like to share it with you. Arnside is a beautiful village situated in South Lakeland, on the shores of Morecambe Bay. It is an ideal location for guests who want a quaint, picturesque village that also offers easy access to the South Lakes, Grange over Sands and Cartmel, Kendal and Yorkshire Dales. The village itself has 2 pubs and a variety of independent shops, a bakery and cafes as well as a fabulous fish and chip shop. All are about a 10 mins walk from the cottage. Please note that the walk back from the promenade is up Silverdale Road, which is a steep incline. There is also a train station that can take you to Grange Over Sands and Lancaster and Manchester. There is a train station in the village that allows access to all stations between Lancaster and Barrow In Furness. Sometimes steam trains travel along the line. A 6 minute train ride takes you to Grange Over Sands. A car is useful to allow you to explore the real beauty of the area and the lakes.
