Charlbury is a lively market town with great pubs, independent shops, a deli, a local history museum and fantastic walking from the front door through the beautiful Evenlode Valley. Conveniently located just a minute’s walk from the centre of the village and ten minutes’ walk from Charlbury train station (built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1853), the cottage is on a residential road, with a small leafy park to one side, free on-street parking and a well-stocked food store across the road. Charlbury is a small but lively and vibrant market town that has escaped the hordes of Cotswold tourists, making it a justifiable member of the ‘Undiscovered Cotswold Club’, yet it is only an hour from London and just 15 minutes’ drive from Soho Farmhouse. The town is full of historic 17th- and 18th-century buildings, has great pubs, independent shops, a local history museum and is in a beautiful setting on the meandering River Evenlode, with fabulous walks in every direction, including around the Charlbury Circular Route and along The Oxfordshire Way and The Cotswold Way.
