We are 200 meters from the beach and 300 meters the Sierpe boat launch. With only 2 private rooms on the property, tranquility and peace can always be found here. We are next to several great restaurants, and only a few steps from downtown Drake Bay which has a supermarket, pharmacy, a couple of bars, and a mini-mart (costarican pulperia). Even though the rainy season is upon us the adventures don’t stop in Drake Bay! Personally, I love falling asleep to the sound of rain on the roof while the waves are crashing in the background. There are also some fantastic light shows when the thunder storms do roll in! Every room becomes a movie theater of sorts, and as the clouds part the animals venture from the safety of their havens. Birds dart from branch to branch feasting on insects that have also been waiting out the rain. Monkeys and other animals, like the tapir, love the cooler air and wander out from their jungle hide-outs to munch of fruits and foliage. Each plant is refreshed and renewed, and the trails come alive. Even the fish are more active, which means the dolphins probably are as well! Rain is life for the jungle. Plus, the rain here is warm! If you come from a colder climate, you can really appreciate this fact. I love taking a kayak or SUP out for a ride in the rain, and besides, the rain usually comes in bursts here. After an aquatic excursion, taking coffee on the patio of one of the fantastic restaurants here is just pure heaven!

Drake Bay is a small town on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, famous for its intense biodiversity. The tropical paradise is home to scarlet macaws, 3 different types of monkeys, coconut palms, toucans, crocodiles, an array of insects, and so much more. It is full of eco-adventure options and friendly, sociable people. Pura Vida! TRAVEL INFORMATION To get to Drake Bay you can do so by air (local airlines are SANSA & NATURE AIR), then from the airport you will take a bus to Rincón de Puerto Jiménez, and finally the connecting bus to Drake Bay. The Tracopa bus has service from San Jose to Palmar Norte, then a local bus or taxi connection to Sierpe, followed by a 1 hour boat ride from Sierpe to Drake Bay through the mangroves. The boat leaves at 11:15 am or at 3:45 pm. Ask for Captain Eligio. If you are driving, a 4x4 vehicle is best, however, it is not recommended in rainy season.
