Renowned as one of the most popular National Parks in NSW, Myall Lakes is a stunning fusion of lakes, coastal forests, more than 40kms of pristine beaches and an expansive sand dune system. Internationally recognised for its wetland ecology, it features one of the state’s largest coastal lake systems and offers water enthusiasts endless opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing. On land, exploring Mungo Brush, the Dark Point sand dunes and the Tops to Myall’s Heritage Trail are a must.
Smiths Lake
For those wanting to enjoy still waters instead of the open ocean, Smiths Lake is the number one choice in the Pacific Palms area. Shrouded by a lush littoral forest and neatly separated from the sea by Sandbar Beach, this is a family favourite for those eager to enjoy a spot of water-skiing, boating, paddling or windsurfing (the open lake waters making for a windsurfers dream). With an impressive catchment area spanning 32 square kilometres and waterways of 11 square kilometres you can enjoy all the benefits of this unique, tucked-away calm waterway.
The Myall Lakes National Park boasts more than 40kms of pristine sandy beaches, protected hardwood forests, internationally recognised Ramsar wetlands, rugged escarpments, endless tracks and trails and the spectacular Broughton Island. ‘Must see’ spots within the park include Mungo Brush, Seal Rocks, the Dark Point sand dunes and the ‘Tops to Myalls’ Heritage Trail.
