This is a beautiful oasis on the North part of the island of Ometepe. The property is a large piece of land with lots of pretty plants and trees, 2 friendly dogs, and some chickens. All throughout is thoughtfully crafted walkways and living spaces which are very well-kept. The dorm room felt super clean and the beds were comfortable. It is actually incredible how clean it is kept considering it is basically in the middle of nature. The ranch has plenty of hammocks and space to relax! The best part of this place is the couple that owns it, Daniella and Tony. They have a way of making everyone feel at home and bonding the guests staying there. It felt like we had our own little family for the week we stayed. They always made sure we had everything we needed from food and water to suggestions of what to do on the island. Daniella is an amazing cook and we enjoyed many delicious breakfasts of omelettes, fruits, homemade marmalade, etc. And Tony’s banana smoothies made me so happy! Everyone we met there ended up extending their stay, including us. I have never felt so comfortable anywhere I’ve stayed while traveling. This is a really special place where you can feel a little closer to home while being so far away.

The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. when we showed up early they allowed us to check in straight away as the room was ready. we went on excursions organised via them and took the scooter via them both of which were excellent. there general atmosphere is great. there is a large communal area and good facility for cooking and meeting new people. the location was close to town and other facilities. we loved our stay here thanks.

Out of all my years travelling, I’ve never found somewhere that has ticked literally every box. It’s so clear that the owners have spent many years backpacking as everything has been thought of from a back packers perspective. As well as amenities, the vibe is so goooood. The chilled nights are chilled and the party nights are banging. The music and food, the staff, the location, everything! Thank you soooo much to Charlie, Styx and the gang for looking after me and attending to my every need. I’m so gutted I had to eventually leave. Love and appreciate you guys! May we meet again! I reccomend rain dance to everyone.

Coco's Hostel is immaculately clean, with a pleasant central garden area tended with care and hung with colorful hammocks. Mayela, the owner, is delightful and does her best to make the guest feel welcome. This is my "go to" place when I am in Moyogalpa.

This is a small family based hostel on only 2,5 KM from Altagracia. Surrounded by nature and close to Ogo de Agua, Altagracia, Vulcano Conseption and many more. Guest can enjoy the on-site bar. very cosy, had everything you needed good location and Liz is very very friendly and helpful!

El Pital, Chocolate Paradise se află în Balgue și are o grădină, un lounge comun, o terasă și un bar. The property was so nice. It was in nature with a jungle vibe but also very clean. The food was amazing! I stayed in the 10 bed dorm and it was very big and comfortable. The vibe was relaxed as well. There isn’t a common area but rather everyone hangs out by the water in the restaurant but as a solo traveller I met some great people just in the dorm. The staff are also very friendly. If you’re a party person, this isn’t the hostel for you. If you want to relax in a nice place surrounded by nature, this is the place for you.

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel is a backpackers hostel and a permaculture farm at the same time. We offer various types of hospitality like private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and... A pearl in nature, allowing city dwellers to get a tiny bite of the jungle/farm. Self sustainable with energy, serving own produce - big thumbs up. wouw. Beware that a place being in a somewhat better balance with surrounding nature, has basic bathroom facilities. We just found it perfect.
