La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and it was just perfect. The shower even had hot water (not that you need it with the heat) and the room was really clean and made us feel at home. The hostel is surrounded by nature and they even offer filtered water which is really practical because buying countless plastic bottles was starting to annoy us. They also offer tours to the volcano, scooter rents and other activities for a very fair price. The breakfast is delicious as well, prepared fresh and with love. The owners were super friendly too. They told us what we could do in Ometepe giving their personal opinion on different activities without being pushy or trying to sell us any tours at all. We really loved our stay at Urraca Loca!

Set in Santa Cruz, Raindance features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.7 km from Santo Domingo Beach. Out of all my years travelling, I’ve never found somewhere that has ticked literally every box. It’s so clear that the owners have spent many years backpacking as everything has been thought of from a back packers perspective. As well as amenities, the vibe is so goooood. The chilled nights are chilled and the party nights are banging. The music and food, the staff, the location, everything! Thank you soooo much to Charlie, Styx and the gang for looking after me and attending to my every need. I’m so gutted I had to eventually leave. Love and appreciate you guys! May we meet again! I reccomend rain dance to everyone.

Situated in Moyogalpa, Cocos Hostel has a garden. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Coco's Hostel is immaculately clean, with a pleasant central garden area tended with care and hung with colorful hammocks. Mayela, the owner, is delightful and does her best to make the guest feel welcome. This is my "go to" place when I am in Moyogalpa.

Located in Moyogalpa, Loren's house offers a garden. The accommodation provides room service, a concierge service and organising tours for guests. Great location 10 minutes walk into Moyogalpa. Lorena and Martín were very welcoming and helpful. Arranged a scooter for me. Lovely patio with chairs and hammocks.

Located in Altagracia, 1.2 km from Santo Domingo Beach, Hostel Santa Cruz Ometepe provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Friendly staff, great location and view. The house special rice dish is delicious.

This is a small family based hostel on only 2,5 KM from Altagracia. Surrounded by nature and close to Ogo de Agua, Altagracia, Vulcano Conseption and many more. Guest can enjoy the on-site bar. very cosy, had everything you needed good location and Liz is very very friendly and helpful!

El Pital, Chocolate Paradise has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Balgue. The property was so nice. It was in nature with a jungle vibe but also very clean. The food was amazing! I stayed in the 10 bed dorm and it was very big and comfortable. The vibe was relaxed as well. There isn’t a common area but rather everyone hangs out by the water in the restaurant but as a solo traveller I met some great people just in the dorm. The staff are also very friendly. If you’re a party person, this isn’t the hostel for you. If you want to relax in a nice place surrounded by nature, this is the place for you.

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel is a backpackers hostel and a permaculture farm at the same time. We offer various types of hospitality like private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and... A pearl in nature, allowing city dwellers to get a tiny bite of the jungle/farm. Self sustainable with energy, serving own produce - big thumbs up. wouw. Beware that a place being in a somewhat better balance with surrounding nature, has basic bathroom facilities. We just found it perfect.
