This Icelandic horse farm provides accommodation in Haukadalur Valley, 90 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik. Overlooking Geysir, it offers a guest lounge, garden and horse riding tours. The place is near to the famous Geysir hotspring. And there is a camp site with a nice restaurant very close by. We had dinner there, and it was delicious. The next morning we enjoyed a wonderful horse riding. Lovely experience.

The Barn is located near the village of Vík between the Mýrdalsjölill Glacier and the southern coast of Iceland. This hostel provides free WiFi and complimentary parking on site. Well equipped kitchens and spatious common/eating room. Enough shared bathrooms. Location good for us as a stop on a long journey from Selfoss to Vatnajökull; itself, it is in the middle of nowhere, but that perhaps helped us to enjoy even more the polar lights we saw in the evening. (And as a bonus, our room was next to a side entrance to the building.)
