Set within the former home of the Rowntree family - a lovely Victorian mansion with extensive gardens, YHA York is just a 15-minute riverside walk to York’s ancient centre. Super friendly and helpful staff. Big spaces with great views.Everything was super clean, including the bathrooms. For a hostel first experience it was perfect, would stay again at any YHA.

Situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, YHA Grinton Lodge features many nearby hiking routes and mountain biking paths. Beautiful old moorside hunting lodge turned hostel. Really nice spot to take a wander among the heather. There was a full kitchen available for use.they had a great selection of pamphlets and maps of the Yorkshire Dales.

The evening meal was tasty and filling and good bottled beer available. The bed was comfortable and the shower very clean and powerful. The setting of an interesting building could not be bettered. Staff friendly and atmosphere the most genuinely relaxed I've experienced. Lots of books to read and local information.

Set in a Georgian town house, Safestay York Micklegate offers spacious rooms with original features, free WiFi and views across historical York. York Railway Station is 300 metres away. Beds were super comfy and the facilities were clean. Staff was also super accommodating and kind!
