Each tropical-style room here features a private patio and an ensuite bathroom with a shower and toilet. They also overlook the gardens. Wonderful kind hosts, a beautiful garden full of wildlife. We saw giant crabs, poison dart frogs, agouti, sloths, many birds and colourful flowers. The restaurant is delicious and the whole place has a great atmosphere. Comfy beds, hammocks and well equipped kitchen. Very child friendly, quiet, clean and lots of fun. We loved it :-)

The property is 4.2 km from Jaguar Rescue Center and 2.6 km from Cocles. this place is a MUST if you go to puerto viejo you will feel at home and meet amazing people including the staff the common area are amazing the Rooms and bathrooms are clean the kitchen is very good very good location and safe there are always activities the hostel can arrange everything for you (renting bikes, going to Boca del toro by bus) the place is so amazing that it’s so hard to leave people extended a lot of time their stay

Mina at reception was incredibly helpful and lovely, I also booked a canoe tour though the hostel and my guide Israel was incredibly knowledgeable. The hostel was great and the common area was amazing for cooking and socializing with fellow guests. Hostel was very close to main strip and 1min from the beach

Located around 1.6 km from Cocles Beach, the hostel is also 4.1 km away from Jaguar Rescue Center. The accommodation features evening entertainment and a shared kitchen. El clan is in the center of Puerto Viejo and yet it is quiet and serene. I love the convenience, friendly staffs, nice facilities especially the pool which we thought is a great deal, the AC which for me is a must when you are in a tropical country, the sorrounding trees where you can sometimes find a sloth up close and most importantly it is where I met new friends from accross the world. ♥️ Ive been looking for a comment before if they provide a towel so YES they do and you only need to deposit 5k colones which will be reimbursed when you return it back. Also, Puerto Viejo is located near a lush vegetation so mosquitoes are expected, I suggest you buy a repellant which is available in a nearby supermercado. Overall, I highly recommend it.

The accommodation offers karaoke and a shared kitchen. a wonderful place surrounded by nature with agoutis running around, howler monkeys in the trees and a sloth and baby in the tree right outside my room. just incredible.

At Chinitas Eco Lodge the rooms come with air conditioning and a safety deposit box. This place is truly paradise! An authentic eco-lodge run by a lovely local family. This lodge is located in San Francisco which is a neighboring village, a short 5-10 minute boat ride from the main village of Tortuguero. You can take a private boat taxi or catch the local boat service for very cheap. I truly enjoyed staying in San Francisco rather than Tortuguero. The village is much more local, with very few tourists, offering a slower and more authentic local experience. Geraldo, Ana Rita, and Victor made me feel like family during my entire stay. Geraldo was a guide in this area for over 40 years and has so many lovely stories to share about his life here. Ana Rita is the master administrator and lovely matriarch of the family that can help you with booking any tours, boat transfers, or services that you require during your stay. Victor has great energy and prepared beautiful meals for me daily which were healthy, filling, and varied from day to day. I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful lodge for 5 nights. Most people only stay in the area for 2-3 nights but I definitely recommend extending your stay because the local area and lifestyle has so much to offer. During my stay, my room was cleaned daily and the sheets were changed every other day which was a lovely addition I wasn't expecting. Just from the property, I was able to see a variety of different wildlife passing through such as toucans, tiger herons, and a variety of other birds and frogs. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing and tranquil experience. I hope to return once more and spend another week with this lovely family in the future.

On the right night the hosts will teach you how to salsa dance. Hosts go above and beyond to help with any request and accomodate their guests. Overall decor is rustic with very unique open bungalow feel. Bunk rooms have high ceilings with unique triple bunk bed setup. Very cool place, location is perfect, hosts are officially my family.
