Tenzin is adorable, he speaks English (rare in China!) and is always here to help. We were dropped off to the station when leaving which was also super nice. Highly recommend!!

Set in Shangri-La and with Guishan Park reachable within 600 metres, Tavern Hostel仁和客栈 offers a garden, rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. Each room comes with a balcony. The best place to know the city of Shangri-la. The Jun family and staff are very kind and easy to get information about the city. The hostel is lovely and very comfortable. The shower is great, very warm for the cold days and always being clean. The night can sit around the wood stove, have tea and make new friends. Also has a diverse kitchen, I ordered some dishes with friends and it was all delicious! The location is also perfect, I did everything by walking.

Situated in Yuanyang in the Yunnan Region, Jacky's Guesthouse features a sun terrace and views of the mountain. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Very nice room with view to the rice pads. Jacky is super nice and helpful.

Han Shu Xiang Yuan Hostel has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Jianshui. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a 24-hour front desk and organising tours for guests. Good location in the old town, and quiet street. The owners welcomes us warmly with tea ans yanmei! They even let us choose our room.

Located in Shuhe Ancient Town, Desti Youth Park is about 20 minutes' drive from Lijiang Dayan Old Town. It offers comfortable dormitories housed in one of the oldest Tibetan buildings in town. The environment is spacious, with three large yards and a large public area. You can drink tea, chat and bask in the sun. It is clean and tidy.

Set close to the south gate of Dali Old Town, DaLi LOFT Travelling With Hostel is a stylish accommodation featuring a 24-hour front desk, wake-up service and free WiFi throughout the property. I stayed in a dorm and in a private room. Both were amazing. Comfy bed and great facilities. Please note that my dorm had a squatting toilet. The private room had a "normal" toilet. The place is impeccably clean and modern. Location is great, very close to the touristy old town gate. Helpful staff as well

Operated by the local Nakhi people and enjoying a history of 15 years, Mama Naxi Guesthouse is a family-style hostel offering cosy accommodation in Lijiang. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. Very helpful staff, things seem to be picking back up from the pandemic. Check this place out!

Located in the centre of Wuhua District, Kunming, Kunming Upland International Youth Hostel offers simple yet comfortable accommodation with free WiFi in public areas. I loved having a single room in a hostel, play pool, talk to the friendly staff, there is a lot of space and a nice rooftop to take photos of the sunset. Easy to walk to the green lake to chill.
