Located in the Jinniu district in Chengdu, 700 metres from Wenshu Monastery, Chengdu Lazybones Hostel Templeside Poshpacker boasts air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. The social activities (hotpot, dumpling making, etc) were great for meeting other travelers. Michael was a great host who made everyone feel welcome. Lora was very friendly and helpful as well. Sonderia is also a bar where locals come to drink. All kinds of travelers stayed there, young people, older retirees, families, foreigners and Chinese. All in all the atmosphere was great. I stayed in a private double room, which was as good as a 2 or 3 star hotel room. When I wanted privacy, I could stay in my room. When I wanted to socialize, I just go down to the bar.

Chengdu Flipflop Hostel Poshpacker is perfectly located in downtown Chengdu, right next to Taikooli, the core of Chengdu’s downtown commercial center. Great value for money and the location was very convenient. I met some nice people here. Lucy at reception was very kind and helpful, she helped me a lot when when I wasn't so sure of my plans, giving reccomendations and helping me extend my booking.

Holly's Hostel í Chengdu er í aðeins 3 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Marquis Wu (Wu Hou Ci) hofinu og býður upp á svefnsali á viðráðanlegu verði og einkaherbergi með ókeypis WiFi. The hostel is located in a very interesting alley surrounded by tibetan shops and it is right next to a temple you can go and visit as well. From there you can reach the city centre easily on foot or with the metro. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable with good WiFi. Since it is in a secondary alley it is also very quiet. I think the lady at the reception can also speak a bit of English but we mainly talked in Chinese. I also had breakfast there and it was really good (chinese style breakfast) with mantou, rice, a few vegetables, soups, tea and eggs. The staff also helped me book a place for the Sichuan Opera (do it well in advanced if you want good spots, in tourist season it is hard to find any seats at all) and I also booked a mahjong lesson with them and it was super fun, you basically play with the staff for at least 3 hours and get complimentary tea and fruit.
