It’s not very often that I come across a hostel that checks all the boxes. This one is one of them. The hostel is centrally located, within a side street of the old street in Jiufen. Facilities are really good (showers, common room, terrace). The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, I felt like I was walking into a friends house from the first moment. The host helped me with the itinerary and gave me advice based on the latest weather forecasts. He also introduced me to other guests staying there to help us all get along. I would stay here again if I’m in the area.

The most comfortable bed I've had yet, and the nicest bathroom and shower as well. Thoughtful touches like free coffee and hot/cold water, nice common areas, great ac and hot water pressure. Absolutely great staff available by line, they are remote. You will need internet to get in to the building. You need line app if you don't have it. Location is minutes to everything you want to do in Jiufen, and bus close by too. Easy to find. Though the town is almost all steps, this particular inn doesn't require any at it's by the road (but not loud). Photos are accurate.
