The hostel is a short walk from the main plaza. There are a lot of great restaurants nearby. The staff was really helpful with helping me schedule a taxi and find a laundromat. The shared room is really nice - you still get some privacy with the enclosed bed.

Hosts: The hotel is beautiful but the real highlights are Gelga and Romulo. I have never met hosts as hospitable, warm, and generous as they were. They went above and beyond to make sure I have a wonderful stay. Romulo and Gelga even help guests book and arrange the tours they want to do. They also provide warm compress every night, which is especially great during winter. Room and Facilities: The room and facilities were always kept clean and pristine. Laundry service is also available. Breakfast: Loved the breakfast!! Gelga and Romulo always made sure we had enough food and they always blended fruits in the morning to make us fresh and organic juice. Location: The hotel is 30 minutes away from the city center by taxi. The surrounding nature, however, makes up for the distance. It's right beside Templo de la Luna and a huge, huge, huge national park that you can explore freely. You can even go horseback riding if you want to. And Romulo can hike with you and give you a tour of the park and talk about its history. Pets: They have 2 dogs, Lupo and Sophie, and 1 cat, Whiskey - all of whom are well trained and very sweet. Overall, this is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in - - it's a place where you know and feel that the hosts truly care about you. You will not regret staying here. ❤️

Up a hill from the main plaza, but walking up a few times a day was good practice for the treks I had planned around Cusco. It’s also close to one of the best lookouts in the city, for nice sunset views. The beds were cozy with full privacy curtains. And the restaurant upstairs was convenient. The staff were friendly, especially Haydee (Hayley?) on reception most nights! Probably the best hostel receptionist I’ve ever met ☺️

For me personally it was too loud but I think you know what you’re getting into with Kokopelli. Definitely cheaper options out there in Cusco but Kokopelli is worth the money if you want security/no hassle.
