Good location 15minutes walk from the station and few minutes from the castle, means you can have walk in the park around at night (recommended). Arrived with nothing else planned than visiting the castle, you will get recommendation of what to do and how. Had a very good time and sleep there. Convenient, Clean, Calm. I recommend.

I realize it's stated clearly here, but I was not prepared for how large this space actually is! It is a former hostel which could easily house 10-15 people across multiple bedrooms and you get to rent the whole thing! It has an unheard-of amount of space for lodging in Japan, and it also happens to be within view of Matsumoto Castle and within easy walking distance to the main draws of Matsumoto city. Definitely don't pass on this option if you are traveling with a large family. We were sad to check out.

Amazing place to stay, the shared rooms have individual beds instead of bunk beds so it was really comfortable. Plus the staff were amazing!!! Really enjoyed my time in Matsumoto and hope to return again soon! Also the location is amazing. Thank you again!

A lovely traditional onsen/ryokan in a town not far from Matsumoto City. The room and hotel was very clean and quiet, and it was only minutes away from the bus stop to Matsumoto City. There were hiking trails up the hill, and the onsen temperature was perfect for relaxing. The staff were very kind and caring.

I liked its proximity to the city as well as the owner. We had a nice chat about my job and he let me looking at some of his books while I was there.
