Plus I loved the Kumamon in the toilet 😍 The owner gave me a lot of info on arrival. There is safe storage with lockers in a separate shed for early arrivals and late departures. Very useful! The location is near the train stations, which is easy to take the public transportation. The common area is where you can meet and chat other travelers and share your stories with each others. It is about 10 min driving distance from the downtown train station and 30 min from the Aso summit. Great location if you want to seek a quiet and peaceful experience in winter. Bath hall is at the separate building, the hot spring is definitely a must-visit. Breakfast and dinner buffet are nice. A little pricy but worthwhile.

All of the facilities can be accessed within 3 minutes by walking. Cuddly Dominion where you can enjoy a helicopter ride is just 15 minutes walking distance from the hostel. I recommend this lovely hostel to everyone who wants to explore Aso and Kurosawa Onsens

The kitchen is in great condition and has all the supplies you need. Particularly enjoyed the kotatsu table with shelves upon shelves of Manga. The mixed dorm was good size and felt safe. There’s the train station, Toyota rentacar, a lawson and great Onsen across the road.
