Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel offers guests a range of comfortable private and shared rooms. None of the rooms are en-suite but ample shower and washroom facilities are available.

The hostel is licensed so guests can enjoy a beer, malt whisky or glass of wine while relaxing in the cosy lounge with panoramic views over Gairloch, the Torridon hills, Skye Cullins and outer Hebrides.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was made welcome from the minute I arrived. I'd recommend 100 to anyone interested. The view is fantastic motorcycle friendly and on the route for the NC500

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

The staff very nice and helpful. Almost nobody in the hostel, I was alone in my 6 beds room during 2 days. Big kitchen, big living room, big bathroom, and so quiet. The location is nice when you have a car, cause it's a bit far from everything. The view is great, near the beautiful beach.

Lovely little hostel. We had a family room with 2 sets of bunk beds and a double. Clean and tidy bedroom/toilet/showers. The staff were lovely and really helpful. Ideal for our stopover on the NC500. Would recommend for couples or families.

Friendly staff, excellent organization of the kitchen area—probably the cleanest and best equipped youth hostel I’ve seen in a long time! Beds were comfortable and the lounge was very welcoming!

The Gairloch Sands youth hostel is situated in a stunning place. The view from one of the panoramic windows in one of the rooms is simply breathtaking. We were even greeted with a couple of rainbows... Our room was nice and comfy. The facilities were very clean, including bathroom and shower. The staff looking after the booking/evening meal/breakfast were very kind and efficient.

Great location with ample parking. Very clean and covid safe. Quite a funny hotel really as it looks quite modern but then also has an oldie feeling to it inside, but still great. Would definitely recommend staying if your passing through like we were doing the NC500
