Hólmavík Village is 30 minutes’ drive away. We had an amazing stay. We were in a house with shared facilities with 4 rooms in total. However the other 3 rooms were empty so we had a massive house to ourselves. We used the BBQ in the veranda (which was gas powered so it needed minimal prep) and had a nice time watching the great view and having great food. Also the restaurant was nice and we enjoyed a few beers there. The place had a nice chill vibe and the host was cool and professional. Breakfast was also cool and complementary so we were overall feeling very well taken care of. The room was small, but it was well designed, so there was no space issue and it was clean and cozy. The village has hot tubs that we visited and out whole stay felt easy and pleasant.

We booked the three person room for just my husband and I so we could get a private bathroom. We lucked out and were the only ones booked for the night on the ground floor, so we could make use of the kitchen area and living room fully (loved all the local books + maps). It was super cozy and hosts were very thoughtful to provide free coffee grounds and tea! We had a very restful night and morning! If you stay and there are others booked on your floor for the three person room, it would still be pretty private even thought bathroom was in a separate door from bedroom and you needed to use a separate key to get in. The hosts installed a small curtain to let you go between bedroom and bathroom privately.

The kitchen and living room were particularly well appointed, and the living room (and some of the bedrooms) have large windows looking out at the fjord--really gorgeous views! It was lovely to relax in the living room and look out on the sparkling sea. The owner is super friendly and showed us where to find things. Our twin room was very comfortable, albeit a bit small, but we could hang out in the living room and kitchen, so the size didn't really matter. The beds were very comfortable, and included two pillows instead of the standard one pillow.

A well-equipped kitchen, private bathroom and private balcony with BBQ feature in all cottages at Urdartindur Guesthouse. Guest rooms have a seating area and private bathroom. This was our favorite accommodation in the Westfjords. First of all, the price matched the quality, which allowed to accommodate two couples. We enjoyed the sounds of the sea coming from the ocean and the swim at nearby thermal natural pool. Thank you for this opportunity to stay at your place, it was a fantastic night at your lodge.
